Nirmala Sitharaman is an Indian politician who currently serves as the Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs in the government of India. She is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. Prior to her current role, she served as the Defence Minister of India, the first woman to hold the position.
